Just got my usual coffee at Toastbox.. And I helped a group of Korean ladies to order what they wanted since they were struggling to communicate with the lady at the cashier.

Even though I think I got their orders right (Sets 1&3)… In my mind I'm replaying the scenario over and over.

What if they actually wanted set 2 and not 1, since 1&2 sound so similar in Korean?!? (일 for 1 & 이 for 2)

Should I have asked if they wanted Americano (kopi O kosong) since Koreans tend to drink that?!?

Guess helping others ain't easy too… Since I keep torturing myself mentally hahahaha 😂

Had a little time before Japanese class so I went to Kino to do some stationery shopping….

Almost got distracted by all the Rilakkuma nanoblock… Sumikkogurashi merchandise…. Omggggg.

BUT I RESISTED.

Frixion Clicker (far left) was the first one I got…. Then I went to Tokyu Hands (favourite lifestyle shop my heart can't take it) and bought Frixion colours….

They all proved to be very good for note-taking purposes.

Went for the Mandom Mega Sale today (thanks @gilliansng!!) and it was the second time I attended such an event!

The first time was when Ma Cherie & Senka had a workshop and a lot of Shiseido's products were being sold cheaply (Yes, Majolica Majorca stuff at $5!!)

I didn't buy as much as I thought I would so I stayed well within my budget 😅😅 Would be a totally different story if it was Korean cosmetics/skincare.

All the stuff everyone bought after a therapeutic shopping session 😆😆

I managed to snag quite a few products and paid just $39!

The only thing I dislike about Japanese cosmetics packaging is that they are so friggin' bulky. So much redundant plastic that makes you think you're buying a lot when in fact, you're buying just 4 eyeliners or something 😒

The one thing I like about the packaging is that I can read and practise my comprehension skills…

Most of the time what they are saying seems to be overly cheesy (to me la)!

For example (literal translation):

Heroinemake's eyeliner – 夜まで美しい (beautiful till the end of the night)

Sweet Salon Eyeliner Shadow – ナチュラルなのにパッチリEYE (Shiny eye despite being natural 😑)

Left work slightly later than usual today and since the sky was dark, I decided not to walk from the office to Lavender MRT to take the bus.

I do have a direct bus right along Serangoon Rd but I learnt the hard way that I should not take it at all, not during peak hours at least 😣

The 20 min bus ride would feel like eternity… And I even gave it a second chance to see if I could put up with the crowd (and…… Smell…) but it was really unbearable.

So anyhow, the sky was too dark for my liking to feel safe enough to make the 20min walk to Lavender MRT so I decided to take the bus again.

To my delight, the bus was pretty empty because one just left a few minutes before!

I guess third time's a charm~

I even managed to get a seat and had an extremely pleasant ride home 😁

Facebook tells me that it's 2 years since L and I are friends….. On FB that is.

What a stalker 😒 It's crazy how these algorithm thingies work. Just how much information about you that you don't even know about yourself is up there in the cloud hurhhhhhhh.

And I think the least FB could do was to show me the photos we had earlier on when L and I met each other through FOC, not our recent photos from graduation or the States. Hahaha. Be a thorough stalker!!

Ok just killing time while I finish my coffee~ Makes me think back on my last day in Seoul last year when I sat in a cafe alone sipping coffee with all my shopping bags ☺️☺️

Had my first external meeting today, which proved to be a really enriching experience ^^!

Arrived half an hour earlier so naturally my zombie-like self gravitated towards Spinelli for a nice cup of coffee ☕️

Felt so good to have my morning perk-me-up that I declared my love for it on Snapchat (@huienloi)!

At the start of every week, I always have the same few thoughts – the weekend has ended… But I'm glad it was productive!

In all honesty, before I got together with L, my weekends were really a waste of time. I would spend most parts of my days in front of the computer.

But being with him really made my weekends a lot more enjoyable. Granted, I don't get to spend as much time with my family, and my mum makes a fuss occasionally, but all she does is watch TV or do her own things anyway!!

Being a person who enjoys quality time with my significant other, my weekends have been a lot more meaningful now as I get to spend tonnes of uninterrupted time with L and his doggies.

I enjoy going for long walks with his dogs even though they can be ever so lazy.

I enjoy doing insane work out videos with him even though my muscles cry in pain the next day (my body is sobbing internally from yesterday's P90X3 video).

I enjoy just being with L, even though we are just sleeping side by side… Erm not quite, 'cause I'm on the hammock with Stephi and he's on the floor 😂

But sometimes we'll just reach out to each other and hold hands while napping.

So last evening, he cooked steak for the family again ^^ Think it's probably the 4th/5th time he cooked steak for me… And I must say he does a pretty good job every single time.

Taadaaaah. Steak with mushroom garlic sauce and salad (prepared by yours truly and L's mum).

After dinner, I made him do the 5 Love Languages quiz to know more about our preferred ways of receiving and showing affection. And I guessed his accurately… I think I must be a genius.

We both have quality time right at the top and acts of service comes in second for him, while words of affirmation was second for me.

And he exclaimed,

SO JUST NOW I COOKED STEAK FOR YOU NO USE LA?!?

Hahaha. And prior to doing the quiz I helped him to bathed the dogs (means I scored some emotional points 😂😂??)

Speaking of which, bathing the dogs is a highly enjoyable and satisfying experience, even though I probably seemed crazy because I was talking to the dogs the entire time.

While bathing Whiskey, the water got a little too warm and I exclaimed, "OMG WHISKEY I'M SO SORRY. YOU'RE TURNING INTO A HOT DOG!!!" 😑

Good morning! On my way to school and I haven't been there for about 3 months now!

Definitely not looking forward to the crowded campus… But for now..

Can't believe 3 years flew by just like that!!

Seems like it was just yesterday that I was having my very first UB lesson aka ESL407!!!

I entered UB with not much expectations whatsoever.. Was a bit upset that I couldn't take Linguistics in NTU and the person told me to retake A levels in a not-so-nice manner 😒

But… Whatever! I learnt Korean, French and am learning Japanese now. That's somewhat a part of linguistics~

When I was at my allocated seat, for the longest time, I couldn't figure out the seating arrangement…. Then I saw the booklet and realised we were arranged by our batch and honours…

And of course I was quite pleased to know that I'm 1 out of 4 who received highest honours for the group that graduated this June ☺️☺️

Even though the ceremony was soooo draggy, the guy reading our names was so hilarious.. For all the WRONG reasons!

He butchered 75% of the graduates' names!

He pretty much mispronounced most of the Chinese names… And he couldn't even pronounce normal English names!!

Phoebe > Furby (I can't even….)
Laetitia > LaetiTIER
Joash > Josh
Charlene > Char Lin

Luckily I was one of the 25% whose names were pronounced correctly.

Attending UB is like paying for a premium education and I'm thankful that they are able to afford it.

I'm also glad that I've worked hard enough, to ease their minds and no longer worry about my grades.

He kept asking if L will get me flowers and I'm like

"AIYAH NO NEED LA! He rush out from camp that day so won't have time also!!! Plus flowers will die!!!"

He still got me flowers in the end… ☺️

I still think it's a waste of money but I can't resist sunflowers so…. 😅

Since twin was so sweet to customize a graduation bear for me… I had an idea of what I could give him for his graduation..

I think it helps that I've been busy and I'm trying to accomplish as much as I can before this Friday!
